The ICT Fund Launches Official Campaign to Promote its Betha Scholarships Program

The ICT Fund, a subsidiary of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), has announced the official launch of its comprehensive awareness campaign that sets out to raise awareness of its Betha scholarships program. The campaign targets both high school graduate students and those have already graduated from university who wish to pursue higher education in the field of Information & Communications Technology (ICT). Centring on the Betha Program’s most interesting offerings, the campaign looks to raise awareness of the project and in turn, support scientifically distinguished students to study subjects based on the UAE’s needs.

The Betha scholarships program contributes to achieving the 2021 vision that aims to secure first-rate education for the new generations to play an active and positive role in society.

“The ICT sector is witnessing remarkable change as the rate of technological development reaches a speed simply unseen in history before. The UAE are one of the biggest users of mobile devices in the world and with this in mind, it is absolutely critical that we make every effort to support the nation’s scientifically gifted students to become specialists in the ICT sector,” said Dr. Abdulqader Al Khayat, Chairman of Board of Trustees, The ICT Fund.

“By providing fully funded scholarships in reputable universities in the UAE and across the world, the Betha Program represents a fantastic opportunity for any Emirati student who wishes to study a subject relating to the ICT sector in the UAE. Sharing this news is precisely what the Betha Program Awareness Campaign is all about.” he added.

The Betha Program is an initiative of The ICT Fund created to enhance the stature and role of the national education sector and to provide educational opportunities for graduate students both at B.Sc. and M.Sc. levels. Through the program, students have the opportunity to study in the most prestigious universities in UAE and across the world. Supporting students of study a wealth of subjects reflecting the UAE’s ICT needs, the Betha Program is particularly focused on the following subject areas: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology.

The campaign will include many activities with the schools in addition to competitions to be conducted via the ICT Fund social media channels.

For those potentially interested in the Betha Program, students should contact the relevant Scholarship Coordination Office at one of the following institutions: American University of Sharjah (AUS), Khalifa University of Science & Technology and Research (KUSTAR), Masdar Institute (MIST), American University in Dubai, Rochester Institute of Technology-Dubai (RIT), American University in Sharjah, University of Sharjah (UoS) scholarships and American University of Ras Al Khaima (AURAK).
