ICT Fund contributes to building a knowledge- based economy

In the presence of H.E. Saeed Sultan Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy, ICT Fund, an initiative by the General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector (TRA) unveiled pumping 18.7 million dirhams into the Atomization of the Industrial Property Applications project. The project is launched by the Ministry of Economy with the aim of enhancing its performance and fostering its integration into the smart transformation that UAE Government is witnessing.

Saeed Sultan Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy, ICT Fund, an initiative by the General Authority for Regulating the Telecommunications Sector (TRA) unveiled pumping 18.7 million dirhams into the Atomization of the Industrial Property Applications project. The project is launched by the Ministry of Economy with the aim of enhancing its performance and fostering its integration into the smart transformation that UAE Government is witnessing.

In this context, H.E. Dr. Abdulqader Al Khayat, ICT Fund Chairman “ICT is a vital enabler for building the knowledge-based economy. In light of this, we spare no effort in supporting any initiative that aims at taking advantage of the modern and rapid technology revolution. This project will contribute massively in expanding the array of electronic services that the ministry is providing, and it will participate in building capacities in the Industrial property field, in addition to elevating national competitiveness and fostering economic diversification.”

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, UAE TRA Director General stated: “ This funding reflects our endeavor to supporting our wise leadership’s vision that aims at building a knowledge- based competitive economy that is led by Emiratis who are characterized by knowledge and innovation. This initiative also comes in line with our strategy that targets improving ICT infrastructure and encouraging the use of modern technology to elevate governmental entities’ performance and customer satisfaction levels. This project will result in lesser time and more cost effective industrial property procedures.”

H.E. Engineer Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Economy, stated: “This agreement underlines our keenness on following the wise leaderships’ directives of completing the mGovernment transformation. As this project will provide intellectual property services with low cost and high efficiency. Applications’ atomization will also contribute to elevating competitiveness and fostering economic diversification.”

It is noteworthy to mention that the project’s main idea is establishing a world-class system for Industrial Property that provides eGovernment services, mGovernment services, Industrial Property Management System, Industrial Property Digital Library, Industrial Property Information Portal. The project will enable the ministry to accomplish its mGovernment transformation. It will be executed over three stages which are namely; Program Analysis Requirements, Program Designing, and Program Development.
